Annual package manure analysis horse/donkey + liver fluke + Equisal tapeworm test

€ 122,00

This annual package consists of 4 manure analysis kits, one liver fluke test, and one EquiSal tapeworm test for your horse or donkey. Each time, we examine your animal’s manure for red strongyles, roundworms, tapeworms, pinworms, foal worms, and sand. In addition, the package includes everything needed to carry out one test for liver fluke and one for tapeworms. Based on the results, you will receive tailored treatment advice.

With this annual package, you will always have a manure test kit at hand. We will send you a reminder when it is time for the next test, so you can send a sample straight away.

The manure samples are examined for the presence of eggs from red strongyles, roundworms, tapeworms, pinworms, and foal worms. We also check for sand in the manure. Along with the results, you will receive an appropriate treatment recommendation for your horse or donkey.

The contents of this package also allow you to submit one manure sample for liver fluke testing and one saliva sample for the innovative EquiSal tapeworm test.

To detect liver fluke, the laboratory uses the Dorsman method. The EquiSal tapeworm test detects tapeworms based on the animal’s immune response. If tapeworms are present, the immune system produces highly specific antibodies against tapeworm in the saliva. The EquiSal test identifies these antibodies. There is a direct correlation between the level of antibodies in the saliva and the level of tapeworm infection.

The price you pay includes shipping costs, analysis of the manure samples, and a personal treatment recommendation for each test.

Please note: This product does not include return shipping to the laboratory. You will need to stamp the package yourself.

Additional notes Wormcheckkit Horse/Donkey

  • Manure analysis is carried out using the sedimentation-flotation technique.
  • To detect liver fluke, the Dorsman method is used.
  • The EquiSal test checks for antibodies against tapeworm.
  • If your horse or donkey has recently been treated for tapeworm, the EquiSal test can only be performed 4 months after treatment.
  • Collect the manure sample at least one month after the last deworming.
  • Eggs of pinworms and roundworms are not always detectable in a standard manure analysis. We do check for them and occasionally detect an infection. However, a negative result does not guarantee that your horse or donkey is free from infection. Additional tests are required and can be ordered in our webshop.
  • This test does not detect lungworms. Additional tests for this can be ordered in our webshop.
  • The result of the EquiSal test takes 14 days, as the laboratory is located in England.
