Worm resistance means that worms are no longer sensitive to certain deworming products. Resistance is an inherited trait of the worm and is therefore passed on to its offspring. The problem occurs in all animal species and has been increasingly observed in recent years.
If a worm is resistant to a particular product, it can no longer be sufficiently controlled with it. As a result, the number of products that can effectively treat a certain worm species becomes increasingly limited. This poses risks to your animal’s health.
To prevent resistance, it is important to carry out a fecal test before deworming. If the test shows that your animal is infected with worms, we will provide you with a tailored treatment plan. This way, your animal’s health comes first and worm resistance can be prevented.
It is important to carry out frequent fecal testing, preferably four times a year. This way, you build up a clear record and gain valuable insight into your animal’s susceptibility to worms. It also provides an important check on your worm management. For each species, we have created testing schedules that you can follow throughout the year.
Feel free to contact us if you would like personal advice. We are happy to help you create a tailor-made worm testing plan for your animal. For any other questions, you can also contact us — our enthusiastic team will be glad to assist you!
In our shop you can easily order a worm test kit.
As soon as the worm testing kit is delivered to your home, you can easily collect and send a sample. We have created clear instructions on how to send in fecal and stool samples.
You will find a step-by-step guide under the worm species section, where you then choose your animal species. This shows you exactly how to collect and send a sample.
In addition, instructions are also printed on the back of the packaging, so you always have them at hand.
Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. Our enthusiastic team will be happy to assist you!

After you have mailed the fecal sample and it has been received at our laboratory, you will receive the results in your inbox within 24 hours at the latest. Please contact us if this is not the case. Sometimes the results may end up in your junk or spam folder.
Even if the result is negative, your animal probably still has worms. However, the level of infection is so low that no treatment is needed at the time of the worm test.
It may also be the case that your animal is infected with larvae that have not yet developed into adult worms. At the time the worm test is performed, no worm eggs will be found in the feces, as larvae do not yet lay eggs. After a certain period, which depends on the worm species, the larva develops into an adult worm that produces eggs.
That is why it is important to carry out worm testing frequently (4 times a year), so that any worm infections can be detected in time. If we find in the worm test that your animal is infected with worms, we will provide you with a personalized treatment recommendation. This way, your animal’s health comes first and unnecessary deworming can be avoided.
If it turns out that a worm infection is present, you can take the results to your veterinarian to obtain the deworming treatment, or we can order the treatment for you. For dogs and cats, we can send the deworming treatment directly to you.
